Microsoft sarà presente in gran spolvero alla GDC 2024, la conferenza annuale dedicata allo sviluppo dei videogiochi. La multinazionale approfitterà dell’occasione per mettere sul palco alcune delle sue new entry del suo portfolio, come ad esempio i titoli Blizzard.
Nei suoi spazi dedicati ci saranno infatti diversi panel e conferenze su Warcraft e soprattutto Diablo IV. Ecco gli appuntamenti in questione:
- The First 30 Years of ‘Warcraft’: The Making of a Game Universe, in questo panel il General Manager John Hight parlerà della storia del franchise di Warcraft. Inoltre, secondo la descrizione del panel, potrebbe anche fornire ulteriori novità e indizi sulla direzione futura del franchise, oltre quindi The War Within.
- The Pillars of Hell: Achieving the Artistic Vision of Diablo IV: qui l’Art Director di Diablo IV illustrerà lo sviluppo della direzione artistica dell’ultimo capitolo di Diablo. Diablo IV – Audio Systems Deep Dive “Living Audio” parlerà invece del comparto audio di Diablo IV. Il terzo appuntamento dedicato a Diablo IV, ‘Diablo IV’: The Art of Open World Sanctuary, invece sarà incentrato sulla transizione di Diablo ad un modello open-world.
- Shipping Diablo IV e Embracing Art Performance on ‘Diablo IV’ invece affronteranno gli aspetti più tecnici e logistici della creazione del gioco, dal management al lancio del prodotto finale.
La GDC non è un appuntamento che si presta ad annunci o novità, essendo un evento dedicato agli addetti ai lavori. È possibile però che alcuni di questi panel siano poi disponibili liberamente una volta terminata la conferenza.

From March 18 – 22, the Xbox Lobby Lounge in the Moscone Center South can’t be missed – an easy meeting point, and a first step toward learning more about the ID@Xbox publishing program, the Developer Acceleration Program (DAP) for underrepresented creators, Azure cloud gaming services, and anything else developers might need.GDC features dozens of speakers from across Xbox, Activision, Blizzard, King and Zenimax who will demonstrate groundbreaking in-game innovations and share community-building strategies. Microsoft technology teams, with support from partners, will also host talks that spotlight new tools, software and services that help increase developer velocity, grow player engagement and help creators grow. Xbox is also sponsoring the Independent Games Festival (IGF) and our Xbox Gaming for Everyone employee communities are coming together to host a networking event for underrepresented developers and their allies.
