On March 26, take to the frozen wastes of Icecrown and battle Arthas at Icecrown Citadel. Defeat him and his minions in a series of 3 challenging maps with increasing difficulty to unlock this new Alliance and Undead Split Leader.
During the 2 week event, you can unlock Arthas as a new Alliance and Undead Split Leader — earn additional copies, skins and the items needed to upgrade this powerful new Mini. Once unlocked, Arthas will be available in G.R.I.D until the event ends on, April 8, 2025.
The Lich King, also known as Ner’zhul, the original lich, was created by Kil’jaeden the Deceiver and imprisoned in what would become the Frozen Throne with Frostmourne. He then launched Ner’zhul through the Great Dark Beyond to Northrend. It is there, encased in ice and flying through the nether, that Ner’zhul learned a very valuable lesson. Kil’jaeden did, in fact, not want to build a snowman, and this is probably where he started to second-guess Kil’jaeden’s plan.
Once in Northrend, Ner’zhul the Lich King started a war with some very large bugs, aka the Nerubians, which he would later reanimate and use to protect the Frozen Throne. Kel’Thuzad, a mage and member of Dalaran’s Kirin Tor, came to challenge the Lich King only to fail and instead become his biggest fan, faithfully serving as the president of his fan club known as the Cult of the Damned.
The Helm of Domination was not nearly as cool as Kil’jaeden had made it sound. Ner’zhul betrayed Kil’jaeden and merged with the human Arthas Menethil. Arthas became the next Lich King to sit on the Frozen Throne. That block of ice can’t be comfortable. Now where is Jaina?
